What is Transient Protection?
LED's, unlike regular incadescent light, is a solid state device. High voltage spikes from starting, air ride selinoids, door locks, door poppers, electric fans etc. can create high voltage spikes. In some but not all cases these spikes can shorten the life of LED's and or other electronic devices. We decided it's safer to add this protection when pratical to our LED's.
Why do LED's need current limiting?
LED's are 2-3 volt devices, applying 12 volt directly would destroy the LED immediately. All our LED's are current limited so they can be directly connected to 12vdc.
Do our lights require an interface box?
NO, any of our LED lights connect directly to 12vdc through a switch for off and on. There are no hidden cost of an interface box.
What if an LED burns out?
We burn in test every LED to ensure they all work prior to shipping. LED's have a life of 11+ years of constant on. We don't drive any of our lights hard to make them brighter and sacrifice longevity, they should last much longer. In the event an LED should fail, we will repair or replace any light we sell, just contact us.
